Expats and their employers are an important part of the economy of our region and therefore of our customer base. Our lawyers all have an excellent command of the English language. Some of our lawyers also speak fluently German or Spanish.

Our services
Our services for expats mainly focus on the following topics:
-    labor law
-    family law
-    legacy & estate planning
-    real estate & construction law
-    immigration law
-    education law
-    liability, injury & insurance

Our work consists of determining the right strategy in case of legal disputes, giving legal advice, drawing up contracts, negotiating about legal conflicts and conducting legal proceedings.

What does a Dutch lawyer do?
The tasks and responsibilities of a ‘lawyer' differ from country to country. Dutch lawyers provide legal assistance in proceedings and/or provide legal advice, among other things. A Dutch lawyer is an academically trained person and the profession is protected by law. To work as a lawyer in The Netherlands one has to be admitted to the bar and follow its rules. Lawyers have certain privileges such as attorney-client privilege and a monopoly on most forms of litigation. If you are assisted by a lawyer from our office, you are always assured that we will maintain absolute confidentiality about your case towards third parties.

We note that Dutch lawyers cannot (for example) draw up a will or a prenuptial agreement. For these acts you need a notary, another protected profession in The Netherlands. We can of course advise you on estate planning and matrimonial property law.

Costs
We charge competitive rates that match our expertise. These hourly rates can differ per lawyer. Agreements with your lawyer about the costs for his/her work are made beforehand for every new case.

Fixed price agreements are also possible in many cases.
